Guadagnoli then discusses how to put these parts of speech together in constructions, for example how to make verbs and nouns agree, and introduces adjectives, conjunctions etc. At the end are included examples of Arabic verse with translation, such as the Carmen Chazregiacum, to demonstrate the metrical and rhythmic properties of Arabic. Also included are the Carmen Ali, son of Abi Taleb, called De Invocationibus, as well as the Surat-al-Rahman from the Qur'an, 'The Merciful', in which the second verse, ‘[The Merciful] … taught the Qur’an’, has been judiciously removed. Two Christian poems in Arabic close the volume, 'lest the book should be closed with the verses of one of Mohamad's sect'. The first is by a Maronite author, Gabriel son of Chelia.
